Schockhochalm

The Schockhochalm was rebuilt in 2002 and is located at approx. 1665m directly on a forest road above Harbach in the municipal area of Bad Hofgastein. The rustic and cosy alpine hut offers products from organic farming, such as the alpine snack with bacon, cheese and alpine butter. There are several ways to get to the Schockalm, e.g. with the Fulseckbahn in Dorfgastein to the summit at 2030m, then via the Kreuzkogel (2027m) towards the Perastlscharte (1834m) in about 2 hours to the alpine hut. Alternatively, you can hike from the Harbach district via an idyllic path or the forest road to the alp in approx. 2.5 to 3 hours. On request, you can also stay overnight at the Schockhochalm.
