The Hager bakery, founded in 1907, looks back on a long tradition with an unbroken awareness of the values of traditional baking. Wolfgang Hager leads the bakery in the 4th generation and it is also he who has dedicated himself entirely to the return to the original bakery trade: artificial ingredients, baking mixes and leavening agents are deliberately avoided, instead he relies on manual labour, regional suppliers - over 70% the raw materials come from Lower Austria - and long-term management, a method in which the dough, based on natural sourdough, has up to 12 hours to mature: the bread tastes better and is also more digestible. The Hager bakery is headquartered in St. Pölten (Mühlweg 68, 3100 St. Pölten), and the company has a total of 190 employees at 15 locations and 6 mobile branches.
