About
The Jesuit Church, also known as the University Church, stands in the heart of Vienna on Dr. Ignaz‑Seipel‑Platz. A magnificent example of early Baroque architecture, it was completed in 1627 and later embellished by the renowned artist Andrea Pozzo, whose trompe‑l’oeil dome is a world‑class masterpiece. Inside, visitors are greeted by richly painted ceilings, gilded pillars and a large organ that has played for centuries. The church is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., free of charge, and welcomes visitors of all ages to experience its spiritual and artistic heritage.
