Melker Stiftskeller
About
The Melker Stiftskeller is part of the Melkerhof in Vienna's Schottengasse 3 in the first district. A certificate from 1629 proves that there was a wine-cellar connected with the Melkerhof already at that time. In addition it confirms the right of the Abbey of Melk to store and sell wine from the abbey's wineyards. The Melker Stiftskellers fine cuisine developed out of this wine-cellar. Today we concentrate on traditional and fresh food, our speciality of the house, the roasted pork knuckle, is served for almost 400 years now. The old cellar vault offers seating for 300 persons and therefor is perfect for larger groups, private partys and buisness events.
