Stadtpark
About
The Stadtpark, Vienna’s largest green oasis, opened in 1862 and now spans almost 96,000 square metres across the districts of Innere Stadt and Landstraße. Its layout blends English garden style with Viennese Art Nouveau, featuring spacious lawns, winding paths, and a panorama of historic monuments. The park’s crown jewel is the gilded bronze statue of Johann Strauss II, flanked by marble reliefs and surrounded by lush gardens. In addition to the famous monument, visitors can explore the elegant Kursalon pavilion—formerly a spa hall, now a venue for concerts and dining—, the contemporary Donald Judd steel sculpture, and a lively children’s playground. Whether strolling along the River Wien, enjoying a Sunday picnic, or attending an outdoor concert, the Stadtpark offers a serene escape from city life while celebrating Vienna’s artistic heritage.
