About
The Wien Museum, situated at Karlsplatz 8 in Vienna, opened in its renovated form on 6 December 2023. It showcases an extensive collection of art and historical artifacts that trace the city’s evolution from its earliest settlements to the present day. The free permanent exhibition “Wien. Meine Geschichte” spans three floors, featuring highlights such as a 5‑metre model of St. Stephansdom, Gustav Klimt’s portrait of Emilie Flöge, and the museum’s mascot Poldi. In addition to the free exhibition, the museum hosts rotating special exhibitions, a versatile workshop and event center, a restaurant and café with terrace views of Vienna’s city centre, and a range of educational programs for visitors of all ages.
