Children's and youth bookshop Pardoes is located in the more than 100-year-old renovated station building of Mechelen-Nekkerspoel. Among the books you can marvel at stylish staircases and authentic furniture. The waiting room for train passengers was transformed into the Book Cabinet. And so 100 years later, you can once again quietly read a book in a special setting. "Pardoes, which is the Tomorrowland of children's bookstores," according to the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. It's more than a bookstore, it's a real experience. You can climb in the tree-high Pardoes cabin, plop down in the reading forest or go on a book hunt in the Young Adult Cave. Pardoes regularly organizes storytelling moments, workshops and visits from well-known authors and illustrators to bring stories to life.
