d'Oude Brouwerij
About
Our Bed & Breakfast is located in Flanders, in the rural Klemskerke, the municipality of De Haan, once elected to the most beautiful village. Bruges (15km) and Oostende (10km) are close by. D'Oude Brouwerij is a single mansion built around 1872 in the center of Klemskerke by Louis Demarest, great grandfather of the current outbuilder. In 1899 a brewery was erected in the rear, which was converted into a steam brewery in 1901. Until the building of the town hall in 1953 (here not far off the Dorpsstraat 61), Arthur Dewaele, then Brewer who was also a member of the City Council, even exercised its municipal office. The brewery broke down in 1971. It was in the place where the home is now. D'Oude Brewery features three luxuriously decorated rooms since 2017. The sea is 3 km from our B & B. Nevertheless, in Klemskerke, you enjoy the peace of a polder village.
