About

The Comic Art Museum, located a stone's throw from Ghent's "Gravensteen", invites everyone on a multimedia and challenging journey through 1,750 m² of history of 20th-century Flemish and Belgian comics. It is a museum where the viewer does more than just look at pictures. The Comic Art Museum literally brings some iconic scenes to life. The visitor walks through a scene from the Suske and Wiske album "Het Eiland Amoras" and sees Sus Antigoon flying through the gate. Or he is dropped into the command centre of the Emperor of the Yellow Empire from "The Secret of the Swordfish". The collection consists of original drawings, plates, paintings, comics and objects. Young and old can not only learn about our rich comic culture, they can also experience it. Besides the permanent exhibition, the comic book museum organises temporary exhibitions every year.
