About
The Maison de la Laïcité de Namur was founded in 1981 and has since worked to build a fair, progressive and fraternal society that can ensure everyone the freedom to think, while respecting their convictions and those of others. As actors in the field, our work aims to stimulate reflection on the complexity of the relationships that unite us to the world, to society and to others. This is why the activities that we develop mainly offer opportunities to reflect together, to exchange our points of view, to deconstruct evidence, to question values and to increase our individual and common knowledge. Convinced that the humanist values of freedom, equality, autonomy, responsibility and solidarity go beyond all socio-cultural conditioning, they work to guarantee a secular ideal, a peaceful society allowing the harmonious development of each individual. To do this, the Maison de la Laïcité de Namur constantly promotes the method of free examination.
