Chateau de Reinhardstein
About
Château de Reinhardstein, perched on a rocky outcrop in the Warche valley, dates back to 1354. Built for the Count of Luxembourg, it has survived wars, plagues, and neglect to become a living museum today. Visitors can explore its medieval halls, guard rooms, the chapel, and an observation tower that offers sweeping views of the surrounding forest and the river. The castle’s well‑preserved stone walls, towers and interiors combine to create an authentic medieval atmosphere, while a small museum showcases armors, tapestries, paintings, and other artifacts that tell the story of the region’s past. Guided tours last about an hour and are complemented by a scenic walking trail that winds through the woods behind the castle, making it a perfect day out for families, history buffs and cultural explorers alike.
