The State Stud Farm in Đakovo was founded in 1506, which makes it one of the oldest horse farms in Europe. It also represents the long tradition of horse breeding in this area. At the beginning of the 19.Ct. Lipizzan horses began to be bred at the Stud Farm in Đakovo. Nowadays the State Stud Farm in Đakovo uses two locations – The Stud farm in the centre of Đakovo and Ivandvor near the city.
