The Red History Museum, located on the ground floor of the former TUP graphite factory in the port district of Dubrovnik, offers visitors a vivid journey through Yugoslavia’s socialist era. Founded in 2018, the museum presents a blend of interactive exhibits, archival footage, and augmented‑reality experiences that bring the history of socialism in Croatia to life. Organised into three thematic sections—Socialism in Theory, Socialism in Practice, and Socialism in Memory—the galleries guide visitors through the rise and fall of the Yugoslav state, its everyday culture, and the personal stories of those who lived under the regime. An accompanying free mobile app expands the storytelling with hidden details and historical commentary, allowing guests to explore the museum’s spaces at their own pace. Beyond its exhibits, the museum hosts a range of temporary exhibitions, guided tours, and cultural events. Visitors can also browse a curated shop selling rare Yugoslav memorabilia, while children under ten enjoy free admission, making the Red History Museum a family‑friendly destination that nurtures both curiosity and reflection.
