The development of human civilisation and olive growing is closest entwined in the Mediterranean. The ancient Greeks believed that Athens defeated Poseidon by giving people the greatest gift of all - the first olive tree. And just on the border of the realm of the god of the seas this evergreen plant has been grown for millennia. Traces of this activity are particularly evident in Tučepi, where remains of hundreds of ancient terraced olive groves stand to this day. Here, on dry and poor soil this plant helped the local population in their toughest moments. In order to thank her and emphasize the defiance she symbolizes over the salty and sometimes cruel sea, we named the à la carte restaurant located just a few meters away from the great blue empire - Oliva.
