About
The Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, situated in the iconic Kaštel fortress on Pula’s hilltop, invites visitors to step into the region’s rich maritime and cultural heritage. Spanning the 17th‑century Venetian fortress, the museum showcases over 100,000 artefacts ranging from naval ship models and historical weapons to ethnographic objects and artistic canvases, painting a vivid picture of Istria’s past. Visitors can explore the permanent exhibition, attend guided tours (bookable over the phone or by e‑mail), and enjoy the unique underground tunnels of Zerostrasse and the House of Frescoes. Hours run from 9:00 – 17:00 in winter and 9:00 – 21:00 in summer, with tickets priced at €7.00 for adults and €3.00 for children (with free entry for those under five or with disabilities).
