LET THE IDYLLIC ENVIRONMENT AND PRISTINE NATURE OF KORANA CAMPSITE BE YOUR OWN QUIET CORNER, PERFECT FOR RELAXATION FAR AWAY FROM THE CITY RUSH AND CROWDS Situated alongside the canyon of Korana River, Korana Auto camp is considered one of the most beautiful camps in continental Croatia. Thanks to its location it boasts lush vegetation, thus allowing campers to hide away in their own secluded corner and enjoy the peaceful natural environment. THE SUPERLATIVES OF THE KORANA RIVER SPRING Korana River certainly adds to the quiet atmosphere of the camp. Although a typical karst river, it is special in many ways. Korana springs from the Plitvice Lakes, the oldest, most well-known, most visited, and as many would agree, most beautiful national park in Croatia. The river springs in the part of Plitvice Lakes where the water plunges down the highest Croatian waterfall – the Great Waterfall. It forms the Sastavci Waterfalls, which is considered the beginning of Korana River. From there on Korana flows along a narrow canyon which boasts beautiful limestone cliffs and caves. Flowing towards the 123-km-long Kupa River near Karlovac, it takes on different shapes. First it shyly flows underground, disappearing from the face of the Earth, except for a few puddles. Then it reappears like nothing ever happened, reflecting the nature of the karst landscape. It will surprise you with its combination of unbridled and abundant waterfalls after the rain season on one hand and gentle cascades and lazy meanders on the other. The camp offers 47 bungalows, equipped with two twin beds with bedding, a table and chairs, and a wardrobe. Guests share the common washroom facilities, which have been newly refurbished. In order to make sure our guests enjoy Plitvice Lakes without any inconvenience, we ensured free transportation to the national park and back. The pleasant camp environment is wooded and beautifully landscaped, which, and along with lush forests and Korana River in the immediate vicinity, it makes the area an attractive destination for active holiday seekers.
