About
In the heart of Zagreb's Upper Town, between St. Mark’s Church and the Stone Gate, there is the cafe "Kavana Lav", a peaceful oasis of delicious coffee, cakes and a place with a rich history. The entrance is housed in a beautiful Upper Town-style building built from the 13th to the 14th century, owned and built by Count Arthur Nugent, the son of a great military leader and patron of the arts. The palace itself, of which "LAV" is a part, is today a protected cultural asset. The space itself has an original look because it is decorated with a stone wall from the 13th century, high domed ceilings and large arches between the rooms.
