About
Lotrščak Tower, perched on Zagreb's Upper Town hill, is a 13th‑century Romanesque fortress that dominates the city skyline. Erected in 1266 to guard the southern gate of the Gradec wall, the tower rises to 30 metres and offers a sweeping panoramic view of Zagreb's historic core. One of its most iconic features is the Grič cannon, installed in the 19th century and fired daily at 12:00 pm, a beloved local tradition that draws both locals and tourists. Visitors can explore the tower's interior galleries, climb its spiral staircase, and enjoy the central courtyard, all while absorbing the rich history that has shaped Zagreb for centuries.
