Our Tavern was named after Dimitri’s – the restaurant owner – grandfather “Dimitri Violari” who from a very early age was bold! So his friends gave him the nickname “O Klokkos”. Klokkos is a slang word meaning unripe fig! “Klokkos tavern reminding you of the good old authentic Cyprus. The Tavern occupies a traditional house over 100 years old (1916-1917). The house was owned to a couple by the name Chambis & Maria Xiratou. Built with large stones and basic building materials such soil and water, reminding you the good old days, full of simplicity, authenticity and quality. The Tavern features a wide open arch indoors that offers the cosy warm feeling during the winter, whilst the open yard its perfect for those cool summer nights. The facilities include indoor and outdoor eating areas, for over 220 seats. In a traditional and friendly environment, try our unique cyprus meze or choose from our menu, steaks, Cyprus specialities and fish. The food is cooked in various traditional ways including charcoal or in a clay oven. Our staff is at hand to cater for your every need ensuring an unforgettable experience with us.
