The history of the place The place of Bonamare is related to the traditional legendary history of ancient Paphos. It is well known that Aphrodite , the goddess of love was worshipped with various ceremony’s. It is said that the goddess had her gardens in Yeroskipos from where she walked to Palepaphos, today’s Kuklia village. On her way there, she was followed by a lot followers who stopped at various points. One such a point was undoubtedly the “Kathari” point of seaside of Timi, where the Bonamare Café Bar is situated today. The place is wonderful for swimming and bathing. The little lake especially just in front of Bonamare bar is said to be used as the place for baths of Aphrodite’s followers and sometimes of the the Goddess herself. It was believed that the water there was ideal for cleansing and empowering the hearts of lovers. Traditional rumors connected with the place refer to couples having their marriage here and their love lasting forever.
