Pafos Zoo
About
Pafos Zoo is a sprawling wildlife reserve that covers more than 100,000 square metres of lush, natural habitat on the outskirts of Paphos, Cyprus. Home to over 350 animal species—from majestic elephants and giraffes to colorful birds, reptiles and mammals—the zoo offers visitors an opportunity to witness creatures in environments designed to mimic their native habitats. The park is renowned for its emphasis on conservation, education and animal‑interaction programmes, where guests can feed and observe animals up close, including the famous elephant and lemur interactions. The zoo operates every day of the year, with opening hours ranging from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (11:00 am to 6:00 pm during the peak summer season). Transfer buses connect the zoo with major hotels around Paphos, running daily in the summer and thrice weekly in the winter. In addition to exciting animal encounters, visitors can enjoy daily parrot and owl shows in the zoo amphitheater, and learn about ongoing conservation projects such as the breeding and reintroduction of the endangered Egyptian fruit bat. Whether you are a family looking for an educational outing, a wildlife enthusiast keen to learn about conservation, or a solo traveler wanting to experience the natural beauty of Cyprus, Pafos Zoo delivers a memorable adventure full of wonder, learning and interactive fun.
