A medieval Down of Loket is not registered in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list by accident. In the past Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad in German) belonged administratively to this town. The famous Czech king Charles IV, who, according to a legend, took place in hunting a deer and found mineral springs, came there from the Castleof Loket (Elbogen in German). The house where the restaurant of ,,Staroslovanská Kuchyně" is situated is one of the oldest houses in the town.
