National Technical Museum
About
The National Technical Museum in Prague is the largest and most historically significant technical museum in the Czech Republic. Housed in the architecturally striking main building on Letná, the museum hosts 26 permanent exhibitions spread across seven floors, showcasing the evolution of transportation, architecture, astronomy, printing, timekeeping and more. Visitors can walk through the famed Doprava exhibition, which features iconic vehicles ranging from early locomotives to modern electric cars, and examine the Rudný a uhelný důl (Coal and Ore Mine) section that offers a rare, interactive glimpse into the nation's mining history. Outside the main complex, the museum also operates the Center for Building Heritage in Plasy and the Railway Depot in Chomutov during summer, expanding the breadth of its collections. The museum is committed to accessibility, providing ramps, elevators, wheel‑chair accessible routes, and even a dedicated tactile tube for visually impaired visitors.
