Prague Metro
About
The Prague Metro is the rapid‑transit backbone of Prague, Czechia’s capital. With three fully operational lines—A (green), B (yellow), and C (red)—and another line under construction, the network covers 65.2 kilometres, serving 61 stations that connect the historic city centre to the suburbs. Open daily from the early morning (around 4 am or 5 am) until midnight, the system offers frequent, automated services that make commuting and tourism alike smooth and efficient. Passengers can purchase a variety of tickets: single‑ride options for 30 or 90 minutes, daily and multi‑day passes, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual subscriptions. Students and seniors enjoy reduced fares, while children up to 14 years old enter for free. The metro’s sleek, colour‑coordinated stations also feature artistic designs and multilingual signage, providing a comfortable and accessible journey through the urban landscape.
