Bridgewalking Lillebaelt
About
Bridgewalking Lillebælt offers a one-of-a-kind experience on Denmark’s historic Little Belt Bridge—28 miles across the strait. Guests step onto the former railway bridge, 60 m above the water, and are led by a guide who shares stories about the bridge’s engineering heritage, the surrounding landscape, and marine life below. The guided walk lasts roughly two hours, including safety instruction, a walk around the bridge’s walkways, a chance to spot seals, and a guided view of the Little Belt from a dedicated viewing platform. The last stop is a brief, scenic overlook of Jutland and Funen. Tours run daily from 1 April to 31 October, with the first tour at 10:00 am. From 1 November to 31 March, group tours are offered on weekdays, and normal daytime tours run on Saturdays and Sundays. The walk is suitable for all ages, with a minimum age of 16 years for solo participants (children under 16 can travel with an adult). The speed of the tour is gentle, allowing visitors to absorb the views and stories fully. Tickets can be purchased online via the Bridgewalking website. The experience is recommended in peak season as walkways can become busy, but it remains open all year; weather permitting, tours are canceled only when wind exceeds 17 m/s or temperatures fall below 0 °C.
