Skagens Museum
About
Skagens Museum – Denmark’s most celebrated art destination – is home to the world’s largest collection of works by the Skagen Painters, a luminous group of late‑19th‑century artists who captured the unique light and landscapes of northern Jutland. Housed in the historic Brøndums Hotel, the museum showcases iconic masterpieces by P. S. Krøyer, Anna and Michael Ancher, Laurits Tuxen, and others, while its rotating Sonderudstillinger in the Skiferbygning offer fresh perspectives on the colony’s celebrated figures. In addition to the main museum, visiting their homes – Anchers Hus and Drachmanns Hus – is possible through a combined entrance ticket, which grants access to all three sites. The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00 (closing early on Christmas Eve, January 1, and the first of January each year). Entry can be purchased online or at the museum’s ticket shop in advance, with group rates available for parties of 15 or more. The museum’s dedicated visitor centre, café, and guided tours further enhance the experience for families, art lovers, and cultural enthusiasts alike.
