About

We invite you to stay at New Spøttrup Farm in Denmark for weekends or holidays. New Spøttrup Farm is blessed by a beautiful secluded waterfront location on a plateau overlooking a heath and tidal pond landscape. New Spøttrup Farm is a listed stately country house and farm, built in 1870 by Niels Breinholt and his wife, Maren Stokholm, the owners of nearby medieval Spøttrup Castle estate, located on the Salling peninsula by the Limfjord inlet, one of the best sailing, and mussel and oyster fishing, areas in Denmark. In the mid-1800's, they raised and exported live cattle to Germany and the UK, using the historic Army Road "Hærvejen" to reach shipping ports in Altona and Tönning (in present day Germany), and later shipped live cattle out of Esbjerg, after completion of Esbjerg port in 1868. New Spøttrup Farm was listed as a building of national significance by the Palaces and Culture Agency, under the aegis of The Ministry of Culture in Denmark, in 2011. New Spøttrup Farm has undergone significant restoration, conservation and maintenance work since 2007, but this work is not completed, and will continue in order to secure the cultural heritage forever.
