We The Drowned - Marstal
About
"We, the Drowned" is a dramatized audio walk by BaggårdTeatret, bringing Carsten Jensen’s novel about the sailors of Marstal and their families to life. It’s a unique journey through Marstal’s narrow streets, featuring actors like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lene Maria Christensen, and Esben Smed, with Carsten Jensen as the narrator. Put on your headphones and walk with us to the edge of the world. Experience a sensory journey through Marstal – from the cemetery, through the town’s backstreets, and along the water. You won’t be walking alone! The voices of the town will guide you, and characters from the novel will appear along the way. No need to have read the book, but if you have, the performance will add new layers to the story. The audio walk starts at Hans Krull’s Monument for Danish Sailors on the Steamship Bridge in Marstal harbor. It stretches for about 5 km through historic streets and along the water, ending at the tip of Eriks Hale with a sea view.
