When you go to Alatskivi, make sure you go and see Alatskivi Church as well as the palace. The interesting church on Kirikumagi Hill was built by squire Stackelberg from 1777 to 1782. It was altered in later days and its layout was given the shape of a cross. W Nolcken’s painting ‘Holy Supper’ adorns the altar of the church. The organ was made by Mullerstaedt in 1868. Interesting facts:- the graves of people who have made important contributions to local culture on the Alatskivi cemetery are under national protection.
