Tallinn Zoo
About
Tallinn Zoo, founded in 1939, is Estonia’s oldest and largest animal sanctuary, sprawling across 89 hectares of forested landscape. The park houses more than 13,000 creatures representing 548 species, including the world’s largest collection of mountain goats and sheep, a remarkable assembly of eagles and owls, and exotic tropical residents such as crocodiles and chimpanzees. Highlights include the historic Elephant House, the modern Alpinarium featuring snow leopards, and the Middle‑Asia Complex with Przewalski's horses and Bactrian camels. With a focus on conservation, breeding programs, and visitor education, the zoo attracts roughly 330,000 guests annually and is a top destination for families, animal lovers, and nature enthusiasts alike.
