About

Vanhalinna is located at the foot of the ancient Linnavuori hillfort, in the cultural landscape of the Aurajoki Valley, just a 10-minute drive from the Turku city centre. Positively immersed in culture and history, the idyllic manor estate milieu of Vanhalinna is an ideal destination for a day trip as well as a perfect venue for banquets and conferences the whole year round. The legacy of Mauno and Ester Wanhalinna is preserved in the main building's manor museum, whose treasures are Phoenix furnishings from the University of Turku. The articles on display are primarily post-war furnishings and artefacts. An archaeological exhibit offer a thematic presentation of prehistory in Vanhalinna. Vanhalinna's ethnographic exhibits tell about rural life in the 1800s. The exhibition examines the arc of a human life, everyday routines and celebrations as well as church doctrines and folk beliefs. Every year, Vanhalinna hosts 2–4 temporary exhibitions.
