Step into the past with us in Riihipiha museum! See the buildings and tools used by the earlier generations in the rural Kainuu area before the electricity became commonplace. Our museum, located in the Vuolijoki village, showcases the development of agriculture and the tools used in different professions with over 30 buildings and 4 000 items. Take a peek into the windmill, stop for a breath in the tenant farmer’s croft or check out the tools the skillful people made out of simple materials. The highlights among the museum buildings include a village shop building, an agricultural advisor’s room and a bank museum room.
