Le Petit Canard (The Little Duck) is a recently renovated 100+year old farmhouse opened as a Chambre d'hôte in July 2016. Set in beautiful countryside with far reaching views across rolling hills, there is a jacuzzi hot tub, a summer plunge pool & sun loungers in a lovingly landscaped garden - a perfect place to relax and a great base to explore the many Historic villages of the area many of which are "Plus Beaux villages." ROOMS All the rooms have a view of either the garden and or the fields and countryside, and have good quality comfortable beds, central heating, hair-dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and private bathrooms with spacious showers, towel radiators, central heating, towels, complementary shampoo and shower gel, international shaving sockets and free WiFi. BREAKFAST A generous continental breakfast can be taken on the terrace or in the dining room consisting of Orange Juice, Tea, Coffee, Yoghurt, Croissant, Chocolatine, Cereal, Toast and jams, Eggs from our hens and seasonal Fruit from the garden is offered and there is the option of ordering continental meats, cheese and bread instead when booking, or indeed a cooked English breakfast! EVENING MEALS You could choose to eat out in the day and dine with us at night at the hosts table - by prior arrangement (from a light supper to a 4 course meal) where you will be very welcome and able to chat some more about the beautiful Tarn region or you could choose to go out in the evening to one of the many restaurants available – Tanus 8km, Carmaux 11km, Pampelonne 13km or Albi 25km. ATTRACTIONS A great location for visiting the UNESCO world heritage city of Albi - complete with stunning St.Cecile cathedral, Berbie garden, Toulouse Lautrec museum & St Salvi church and garden 25km. Historic villages such as Monestiés 18km & Sauveterre de Rouergue 28km (Plus Beaux villages de France), Cordes-su-Ciel 33km and Najac 44km all with cafés, restaurants, markets and charming shops to browse. Brousse le Chateau is a great castle to visit and explore, and the villages of Lautrec and Belcastel The Lac de La Roucarié is 11 km away for walking, kayak, pedloe, swimming etc. Cap Découverte adventure park has cable water skiing, skiing and snowboarding, zip wires, carting etc. and it's own beach just 17km away. Albi also boasts a world renowned golf course – Golf d'Albi Labordes. This area is beautiful for walking and cycling and the owners are happy to share local maps and routes (and there are marked routes) to enjoy the area. TRANSPORT Rodez airport is 58km away, and the international airport of Toulouse is 107km, both with car hire and regular train connections. Trains go directly from Rodez or Toulouse to our nearest station at Carmaux (12km) (also calling at Albi).
