The Musee Basque et de l’histoire de Bayonne is a museum that celebrates and preserves Basque culture and the history of the Bayonne region. Situated at 37 quai des Corsaires in the heart of Bayonne, the museum occupies the historic 17th‑century Maison Dagourette, a former merchant’s house, which is a designated monument historique. An adjoining 15th‑century fortification, the Château‑Neuf, houses administrative offices, the library and technical facilities.
