Chateau de Chastellux
About
The Chateau de Chastellux belongs to the same family for a thousand years ! The oldest parts of the castle were built in the 11th century, eventhough the place has been occupied since the Roman era. The forteress has been remodeled, enlarged and embelished at all times, until nowadays. The history of the Chastellux family is inextricably linked to the history of Burgundy, France and also the one of the American Revolutionary War. The park surrounding the castle was drawn by Andre Le Notre, offering variable vantage points of the estate. July & August : The castle is open everyday except Monday. Other months : from Wednesday to Sunday Only on guided tours, three tours a day : 11:15 ; 15:00 ; 16:30. (One tour takes 1:15) The park is open from Tuesday to Sunday for a free visit, from 10:00 am to 18:30 pm.
