The exhibition of Auguste Roure ( Roure/ Garrigures/ Médiatérranné) from July 4 to December 31. he was born in 1848 in Avignon and he also died in Avignon. painter of garrigues and pebbles by his contemporaries, the landscape painter from Avignon Auguste Roure is renowned for the ardour of his «smooth, fat, with infinite sighs», and «his full, robust, human work, which knows how to see and feel the life that surrounds him». Its privileged motifs are the white roads, the garrigues around Avignon, the light and the Mediterranean coasts, the peninsula of Giens and the island of Porquerolles. Loved by amateurs, Auguste Roure gave up his lithographer job to devote himself fully to painting and teach at the Municipal School of Fine Arts from 1919.
