Parc et Chateau de Beauregard
About
Parc & Château de Beauregard is a picturesque Renaissance château nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley, surrounded by 40 hectares of manicured gardens and the famed Jardin des Portraits. The château is most celebrated for its Galerie des Illustres, a monumental hall that houses 327 lifelike portraits spanning three centuries of French and European history, created under the patronage of Paul Ardier. Visitors can explore the historic halls, taste the charm of ancient architecture and stroll through the living plant collections designed by Gilles Clément, the same landscape architect who shaped the Jardin des Trocadéro and the Musée de Montmartre. The site also offers guided tours, seasonal exhibitions, and a venue for events, making it a cultural hotspot for history buffs, art lovers and families alike. The site welcomes visitors year‑round, with a seasonal winter closure from 2 November to 2 April. During the open season, the château’s openings typically run from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, while guided tours are offered in the afternoons. Admission is free for visitors on Wednesdays to accommodate school groups, with a modest ticket price of €12 on other days for adults. Parc & Château de Beauregard blends historical grandeur with botanical artistry, offering a tranquil and educational experience that highlights the rich cultural heritage of the Loire Valley.
