The Water Mirror
About
The Miroir d’eau, affectionately known as the Water Mirror, is a shimmering reflecting pool covering 3,450 square metres (37,100 sf) on the Garonne quays in front of the historic Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux. Designed by landscape artist Michel Corajoud and built in 2006, the pool consists of granite slabs topped with a shallow layer of water, while an underground misting system sprays droplets every fifteen minutes, creating a sparkling visual effect during the day and vibrant reflections after sunset. The site is open to the public from April through October and has earned a reputation as one of the most‑photographed spots in the Port of the Moon, attracting photographers, couples, and curious locals alike.
