About

Chasse-Spleen is spreading in the Moulis area over 130 hectares (321 Acres. This magic name (chasing out the blues) is probably the result of a discussion back in 1860 between Rosa Ferriere, the Mistress of the place and her neighbour, Odilon Redon, a well-known symbolist painter. He was, among other things, the autor of the illustrations for Charles Baudelaires's Les Fleurs du Mal, in wich it is now known he copyrighted the word Spleen. In 1976, Chasse-Spleen was sold to Jacques Merlaut, a well-known wholesaler. In 2000, he entrusted one of his grand daughters : Céline Villars.
