Chateau de Lantheuil
About
The chateau of Lantheuil, built around 1613 by Antoine Turgot of Saint-Clair is Louis XIII style and listed as a Historic Monument since 1931. The historic salons contain an exceptional collection of period furniture and portraits, works of art and archival documents relating to the various Turgot branches. The Second World War did not completely spare the castle which was requisitioned by the German army from 1941 to 1944. Unpublished stories written by members of the family and witnesses of the time will fascinate historians and amateurs. Ysabel de Naurois Turgot, descendant of Turgot will be happy to welcome you and make you visit the Gardens and the historic lounges of the castle. Come to observe the nature, a specialized guide in cynegetic management will take you in our 4x4 to make the tour of the Domain. You will see pheasants, perhaps deer and traces of wild boar.
