About

The museum has an important collection of ancient remains, including a reconstruction of a Roman ship's cargo, and a collection of amphorae from Roman wrecks. Two floors are devoted to prehistory, from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic, covering more than 600,000 years of history. The medieval church, the ramparts in the gardens and the tower are classified as historic monuments. They form a Romanesque ensemble. The medieval church is dedicated to the museum's temporary exhibitions. It can be visited with a guide every Thursday. The crypts, archaeological underground passages, are accessible. From the top of the fortified tower, there is a panoramic view of the sea and the town with an orientation table.
