Brown-Owl-House 400 year old hay barn converted around 15 years ago. It has 5 bedrooms. The living room, vast and open-plan, is part clear up to the rafters, part overlooked by an attractive mezzanine. Three of the bedrooms have views over the immense garden and tree-lined fields. The twin room overlooks the front of the house, and the family room over the fields. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers, and bath robes. Evening meal can be arranged with 24 hours notice. Homemade jams accompany the breakfast. To the front of the house there is a large parking aera. The nearest golf course is at St Jean de la Riviere or la Glacerie around 20kl. One of D Day landing beaches, UTAH BEACH, on the east coast is between 30 and 40 minutes drive away. The beaches on the west coast, one of many is Barneville-Carteret, with their sandy coves and rocky pools are about 15 to 30 minutes drive away. The more rugged coastline is situated further north. All beaches are unspoiled and quiet. Cap De La Hague is another place of delight that must be seen. We are well placed for visiting the D Day sites, Natural Parks and numerous quiet beaches. 10 minutes from Valognes and St Sauveur Le Vicom. 15 minutes from Bricebeque. 25 minute drive from Cherbourg. Nearby is horse riding, swimming pools, fishing, canoeing and green ways. A car is necessary to visit the area. The port of Cherbourg is 35 minutes by car, Ouistream (Caen) is 1.5 hrs by car and Le Harve is 2 hrs by car. The nearest airport serving the British Isles is Dinard, approximately 2 hrs away.
