About

Our house enjoys a very peaceful, rural situation in the small hamlet of Succaillac. We spend a lot of time here and we hope you'll want to as well. The house dates from the 18th century, has been recently renovated and has a modern kitchen.

The house is full of character and recent guests even described it as having a magical feel! It's of a simple traditional French style and has oak beams, polished floorboards and whitewashed walls. Leading out from the kitchen is a small terrace and a flight of steps down to a courtyard. In front of the property is another small terrace, perfect for sitting on and soaking up the sun in the day, or bat watching at night. One minute round the corner is our garden. We've always spent family holidays here and it's well equipped for children – toys, bikes, high chair etc. Our children love it!

It is also a perfect romantic getaway and we are delighted to say that one couple got engaged on our terrace!
Offering two good sized private double bedrooms it would equally make a great base for two couples to spend their holiday together.

We aim to provide a comfortable holiday at a reasonable price. (Good beds!)
We can forward you a detailed and informative list of the surrounding area and what it could offer you on your holiday. We hope what follows will whet your appetite.

It's a perfect base for an exploration of the Midi-Pyrenees region. We think the area offers something for everyone! You can visit some of the most beautiful and historic villages in France including St Antonin Noble Val, Najac, Bruniquel and Cordes sur Ciel - all less than 25minutes away. Your journeys will take you along some of the most breath taking gorge roads in France.

The Gorges D'Aveyron, Lot and Tarn are stunning.
Our nearest village, Varen, is full of medieval charm and history and has a lovely river beach which makes for a great day of swimming, paddling and sunbathing. If you want a proper swim head for the friendly small town of Laguepie 5 minutes away. A platform for river bathing is set in the river and is overlooked by the ruined castle of Laguepie - floodlit at night. You can find further entertainment in the village campsite further down the river which has a lovely play park as well as a cafe, trampoline and water slide.

If castles are your thing then Bruniquel and Najac won't disappoint! Wine tasting is a stone's throw away in the Gaillac wine region.

If you want to get active the local area offers many opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, walking, climbing, riding, swimming (outdoor water parks), tennis and cycling and the exciting activity park Cap Decouverte is an easy drive away.

It's great cycling country and we have bikes (plus child seat + stabilisers) that you are welcome to borrow free of charge. Both our children have learnt to ride their bikes on the quiet roads of the hamlet.
This is a real taste of unspoiled rural France - come and explore.
Well behaved pets considered.

A nearby property also offers accommodation which could provide opportunities for visitors or a larger party. Please enquire for more details on this.
