Bouillon Castle
About
Nestled on the historic cliffs of the Semois river, Bouillon Castle is one of Belgium’s most iconic medieval fortresses. Visitors step into a living history that spans over a millennium, with soaring halls, a medieval experience centre, and the celebrated Scriptura museum inside the castle’s former arsenal. The castle’s signature City Pass offers unparalleled convenience: a single ticket gives unlimited access to the castle grounds, the scriptural museum, a medieval experience theatre, and the rooftop light and sound show “L’Odyssée de Lumière”. For even more magical moments, the City Pass+ adds the dazzling spectacle to the package with no extra cost. Queuing is minimal thanks to free admission for children under four and the flexible, non‑nominal nature of the passes. A highlight of any visit is the daily falconry show, where a seasoned trainer presents a colourful cavalcade of raptors, from soaring eagles to playful owls. The performances take place in the castle’s grand courtyard on 11:30, 14:00, and 15:30 each day, with extended evening shows on weekends and summer afternoons. All guests are invited to explore the medieval experience theatre, where interactive displays bring the lives of medieval soldiers to life, and to stand beneath the breathtaking 75‑metre high “Tour d’Autriche”, which offers sweeping views over Bouillon’s charming streets and the surrounding Ardennes hills. There is no accommodation, restaurant or paid parking facilities inside the castle – visitors should park on the esplanade (free) or nearby public lots.
