Maison Pfister
About
Maison Pfister is a stunning Renaissance‑style townhouse dating back to 1537, located on Rue des Marchands in the historic centre of Colmar. Originally built for the wealthy clothier Ludwig Scherer, the building showcases a famous two‑storey bay window, a wooden gallery, an octagonal tower and richly painted murals that depict biblical and secular scenes. The building has been meticulously restored, most recently in 2012, and today it stands as a key symbol of Colmar’s medieval‑Renaissance heritage. Visitors can stroll the grand façade, admire the intricately detailed timbered gallery, and explore the interior rooms that illustrate the evolution of Alsatian architecture.
