Moulin de Maupertuis
About
"The origins of the mill seem to date back to the end of the 14th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was a small flour mill which would continue to be modernized until the early 1950s. The mill closed its doors for good in 1961. with Paul Carrouée, last miller of Maupertuis. In 1989, with the help of partners (Ministry of Culture, Fondation “Pays de France” of Crédit Agricole, Tourist Office of Donzy, FOL, CAMOSINE), the Cultural Association of Donziais (ACD) buys the mill to save it and transform it into an ecomuseum. All these partners are united in the Association for the Promotion of the Site of the Moulin de Maupertuis: APSMM In July 1991, the entire mill was opened to public." Since 2021, a new space dedicated to Nohain (river feeding Maupertuis) has been opened!
