Museum Dunkerque 1940 Operation Dynamo
About
Musée Dunkerque 1940 – Operation Dynamo is a pivotal military history museum located within the historic Bastion 32 casemates in Dunkerque, France. Housed in the former fortified position that served as the Allied General Headquarters during WWII, the museum immerses visitors in the story of the Dunkirk evacuation through a blend of artifacts, dioramas, immersive exhibitions and interactive displays. Visitors walk through the original entrances, see the original artillery positions and view an extensive collection of uniforms, weapons, maps, posters and vehicle models spanning the war years. The 900 m² exhibition space features themed rooms, a dedicated gallery of photographs and the iconic Operation Dynamo diorama that brings the evacuation to life. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm (last entry 5 pm) and is free for visitors under 12 years of age. Admission is priced from €3 for school groups, to €8 for adult entry, with special reduced fares for students and active military.
