Chateau de Bessonies, a delightful fairytale castle in southwest France, is a 16th century stronghold set within a rolling landscape of farms and majestic forests. Guests will be charmed by the romantic scenery, the tranquility and the joie de vivre. Situated in the ancient kingdom of Quercy, near the Dordogne river, the medieval city of Figeac and the sanctuaries of Conques and Rocamadour, the chateau is a restored masterpiece with five elegant guest rooms. Proprietors regularly host “degustations de vins” (wine tastings) with vintners from estates in Cahors, Bergerac and Marcillac, as well as classes on making foie gras à la quercynoise. The Chateau is also available for weddings, with a chapel conveniently located on the grounds, and can be rented in its entirety by the week.
