Welcome to pleasant and peaceful days at Le Pelerin in the heart of the protected village Montsegur which lies at an altitude of 930 meter in the French Pyrenees. Montsegur village originates from the 15th century and parts of our house date back to that time. We have a charming inner courtyard where you can enjoy the sun or sit in the shade of a tree. We offer modern bedrooms with ensuite facilities plus a large living room for your comfort. The house was renovated in 2012 with care to preserve its character while providing today's standards of comfort. Montsegur is a "grand site", a recommended place to visit due to the history and the significance the castle had in the Cathar story in the 13th century. Every year Montsegur receives between 60 000 and 70 000 visitors from all over the world who climb the steep hills to the castle and visit the museum in the old, rustic village. Here you find many marked footpaths and cycling trails in the beautiful forests, hills and mountains. In wintertime you can enjoy skiing at the local pists at Monts d'Olmes. And of course, you have to climb the "pog" (peak in Occitan) and see the castle for yourself!
