About
Anne de Beaujeu’s imposing residence abandon the defensive aspect of the Middle Ages for the benefit of the comfort of the Renaissance and dominates the Loire valley. After several owner’s changes, the county of Loiret bought it so as to turn it into the sub prefecture, the court and the prison. Since 1952, it houses a sumptuous collection of hunting artefacts dating from the Middle Ages to the present. After 4 years of important works of restoration, the public can now discover its collections and history through a new and original scenography.
